Travelodge Unveils Its 600th Hotel at Skegness Seafront

Travelodge has opened a new 80-room hotel in Skegness, marking a significant expansion as its 600th location in the UK.

Travelodge, the UK’s pioneering budget hotel chain, has announced the grand opening of its new 80-room hotel in Skegness, marking its 600th hotel in the UK. This establishment not only enhances the local hospitality landscape but also generates over 20 job opportunities within the community, encompassing roles in team support, housekeeping, and management.

Steve Bennett, Chief Property and Development Officer for Travelodge, stated:

“This new opening marks both our 600th hotel in the UK and our first in this popular Lincolnshire holiday resort. With its fantastic seafront location and new top floor Bar Café, we can offer a warm welcome to families, fun seekers, and business travellers looking for comfortable and great value stays on the Lincolnshire coast.”

Bennett also emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint across the UK while ensuring that customers have access to more options and affordable accommodation in attractive leisure locales like Skegness.

The newly designed hotel features next-generation rooms, including 12 SuperRooms, with enhanced amenities to provide a premium experience, such as a mini fridge, Lavazza coffee machine, 43” flat-screen TV, and essential in-room items like a hairdryer, iron, and ironing board.

Guests can enjoy stunning views over Skegness from the hotel’s very first top-floor Bar Café, which offers a relaxing spot to unwind after a day filled with beach activities or exploring local attractions. The new location is conveniently situated just 400 meters from Skegness’ Blue Flag beach, making popular sites like Skegness Pier, Pleasure Beach, and Natureland Seal Sanctuary easily accessible.

Transportation is straightforward, with Skegness railway station less than a mile away, alongside multiple bus routes and the A52, ensuring that travelers can easily explore the scenic Lincolnshire coast.

Sustainability considerations were a priority in this hotel’s design, achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating and holding an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A. Innovative features like air source heat pumps and low-energy lighting are implemented to reduce energy and water consumption.
