AirAsia Expands Operations with New Hub in Cebu

AirAsia has officially launched its latest hub in Cebu, enhancing connectivity between Kuala Lumpur and Cebu with increased flight options.

AirAsia has made a significant step in its expansion within the region by launching its newest hub in Cebu, Philippines. This hub aims to improve access between the Philippines and other Asian destinations, particularly Malaysia, making it easier for travelers to access various routes.

Cebu will function alongside Manila as a primary hub for AirAsia Philippines, allowing it to offer more domestic and international flights. For travelers from Malaysia, this development means better options to reach destinations such as Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.

Operations are set to commence on November 15, 2025, with various flight routes established, including connections between Cebu and Kuala Lumpur, and other key locations within the Philippines.

Amanda Woo, the Group Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia, remarked that the reopening of the Cebu hub is a testament to AirAsia’s dedication to the Philippines and will facilitate travel for citizens seeking access to over 130 global destinations.

Promotional fares for direct flights are available starting from RM288 (approximately $66), with further options to explore the region.

Throughout September 21, 2025, travelers can book flights directly via the MOVE app for as low as PHP904 (approximately $16), which includes routes that were recently reopened.

Cebu is not only a hub for travel but also a gateway to stunning islands like Siquijor and Dumaguete, making it an ideal location for tourists seeking adventure beyond traditional attractions.

The hub is expected to initially cover five combined domestic and international destinations and aims to grow further, aligning with AirAsia’s long-term multi-hub strategy throughout Southeast Asia.
