The low-cost airline reported remarkable growth throughout the first six months of this year.

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company released its audited financial report for the first half of 2025, posting significant growth that cements its status as an emerging global carrier. The performance highlights Vietnam’s rise as a pivotal aviation hub in Asia and on the global stage.

In the first half of the year, Vietjet’s air transport revenue amounted to around US$1.35 billion, with a pre-tax profit nearing US$60.71 million, reflecting a 37 percent year-over-year increase. Total consolidated revenue reached close to US$1.36 billion, with pre-tax profit exceeding US$62.65 million, showcasing a remarkable 65 percent increase compared to last year.

During this period, Vietjet operated 79,000 flights, accommodating 14.4 million passengers. The airline also contributed more than US$171.82 million in taxes and fees, while maintaining strong financial indicators, excellent liquidity, and consolidated assets exceeding US$4.25 billion.

Fleet Investment and Global Stature

In the first half of the year, Vietjet ordered 20 A330neo aircraft from Airbus, increasing its total A330neo order to 40, solidifying its position as the airline with the largest orders for this model globally.

At the 2025 Paris Air Show, the airline made a historic deal for 100 A321neo aircraft, alongside 50 purchase options—marking the largest transaction in the aviation industry, which places Vietjet among the top 10 airlines worldwide based on aircraft orders.

Additionally, Vietjet partnered with Rolls-Royce to secure 40 Trent 7000 engines for the 20 A330neo aircraft, bringing the total orders for these engines by the airline to 80.

The Advent of Long Thanh

Vietjet has officially commenced construction on its Aircraft Maintenance Technical Center at the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport. This center will include Hangars 3 and 4, designed to service up to ten aircraft simultaneously to international standards.

Meanwhile, Vietjet has introduced self-service ground operations at key airports, aiming to enhance service quality, optimize operations, and provide a superior experience for passengers.
