The Group has renewed its dedication towards sustainability following insights from its latest employee survey.
A&K Travel Group Reaffirms Commitment to Operational Sustainability
Global luxury travel firm A&K Travel Group (AKTG) announced its continuing commitment to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across its global operations earlier today, 27th August.
Staff members across AKTG’s workforce in over 30 countries participated in a survey to identify priority sustainability areas for future initiatives. Building on a foundation laid by AKTG’s sustainability team, the results played a crucial role in informing the company’s strategic approach.
This strategy integrates two group-wide priorities:
- SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 2: Zero Hunger, both promoted in all AKTG operations.
- Each location also selects additional SDGs specific to local priorities, including SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
According to Chief Strategy Officer Camille Dravillon: “This initiative represents the collective voice of our global team and our commitment to responsible luxury travel. By aligning our sustainability efforts with a mature and proven framework, we ensure that our impact extends beyond exceptional travel experiences, fostering meaningful change in the communities we serve.”
A&K Philanthropy and Sustainable Practices
AKTG’s sustainability efforts build upon the established work of A&K Philanthropy (AKP), focusing on initiatives that align with the company’s chosen SDGs. The AKP’s school lunch program is a prime example, addressing both Zero Hunger and Quality Education by providing nutritious meals to students in underserved areas.
Current AKP projects aligned with the sustainability strategy include:
- School infrastructure and teacher training in Cambodia and Uganda
- Health and hygiene education in India
- Support for girls’ education in Peru.
As the group continues to expand, AKTG is dedicated to integrating sustainability into more of its journeys and destinations, showcasing how luxury travel can catalyze positive change.
