The luxury resort Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives announced the promotion of Rodrigo Buanafina to the position of General Manager as of August 4th. Buanafina, who previously served as Resort Manager, boasts 15 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector.
As General Manager, he will manage the daily operations of the 45-villa resort and its team of nearly 300 staff. He aims to uphold the high standards that Gili Lankanfushi is known for.

His trajectory at Gili began in 2018 as the Food and Beverage Manager, where he quickly rose to Director of F&B. Under his leadership, he introduced various innovative dining experiences, enhancing the resort’s culinary reputation.

Background: A Brazilian native, Buanafina has a rich history of F&B leadership, overseeing extensive renovations and introducing new attractions, including a Marine Biology Centre and Overwater Restaurant.
