
Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Celebrates Filipino Heritage During its 4th Culinary Conference
The recent Culinary Conference by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts emphasized traditional Filipino cuisine while promoting innovation.
Philippine hospitality firm Megaworld Hotels & Resorts successfully held its fourth Culinary Conference from August 11th to 14th at the Twin Lakes Hotel in Tagaytay. The theme was Celebrate Your Roots and the slogan Rooted in Tradition, Inspired by Innovation, uniting 59 chefs, F&B managers, and leaders from its 14 properties nationwide.
Managing Director Cleofe Albiso stated during the event, “We are proud to have a roster of Filipino executive chefs who are making their mark… This is our heritage, our roots, that bind us together.”
The conference aimed to elevate culinary standards by showcasing traditional regional ingredients. Guests enjoyed a welcome dinner emphasizing heritage flavors from Batangas. Renowned culinary figures such as Myrna Segismundo and JR Royol spoke on preserving Filipino culinary traditions.
On the final day, chefs participated in a unique challenge reimagining childhood comfort dishes, with awards handed out for storytelling and presentation. Ending with a feast inspired by Antonio Pigafetta’s chronicles, the next conference is scheduled for Boracay in 2026.
