S Hotels and Resorts Achieves Historic Profits for Q2-2025
The Thai hospitality firm has registered remarkable financial results in the first half of the year.
Singha Estate’s hospitality division, S Hotels and Resorts, has unveiled its financial performance for Q2-2025 with a significant net profit exceeding THB 24 million. This milestone reflects the company’s first positive net profit in this quarter, which traditionally falls within the low season for its main hotels in Thailand and the Maldives, coinciding with the impending peak travel period for properties in Fiji and the UK.
The first half of 2025 recorded a net profit of THB 200 million, leading to a Board decision to approve an interim dividend of THB 0.015 per share, scheduled for release on September 10, following the ex-dividend and record dates set for August 26 and 27, respectively.
CEO Michael Marshall remarked that revenue for the hospitality arm during Q2-2025 stood at THB 2,401 million, maintaining last year’s level despite pressures from Thai Baht appreciation and temporary hotel shutdowns for refurbishment in the UK.
Despite these challenges, Thai hotels delivered robust performances, especially SAii Laguna Phuket, which thrived during the low season, achieving revenue increases of 24% year-on-year. In terms of average daily rates, the hotel reported THB 6,800 per night, reflecting a 34% growth resulting in double the revenue per available room.
Concluding financial maneuvers included the divestment of a joint venture subsidiary comprising three UK hotels, netting around GBP 12.5 million to fund debt repayment and shareholder dividends. A refinanced debt agreement in the UK achieved a two to three percent lower interest rate, improving financial stability and affording room for future investments.
Marshall anticipates that the performance momentum seen in the first half of 2025 will carry into the next half, benefiting from further gains in Thailand and the Maldives. His vision for S Hotels and Resorts is to cement its presence in the global luxury tourism sector.
