Thailand Establishes Itself as a Safe Haven for Travelers

Amid global challenges, Thailand reaffirms its commitment to being a top travel destination by ensuring seamless transportation and high safety standards.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reiterated that Thailand eagerly welcomes tourists, providing rich cultural experiences and excellent hospitality while ensuring smooth travel across the nation. Thailand is recognized internationally as a premier year-round travel destination, receiving numerous honors from top travel media and global rankings for its variety, safety, accessibility, and warm hospitality.

All international and local transport services—including flights, trains, buses, highways, and ferries—are functioning regularly. Major airports, seaports, and public transit systems in the country remain fully operational, without disruptions to visitor mobility, allowing travelers to move freely across Thailand’s five regions.

International Connections

Travel to and from Thailand is convenient, supported by over 140 international and domestic airlines, with thousands of weekly flights linking Thailand to major global cities and regional points. The national airline, Thai Airways International, continues to provide award-winning service to major destinations around Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Travelers can also arrive in Thailand by international train via Malaysia or by cruise liners at designated deep-sea ports like Bangkok, Laem Chabang, and Phuket.

Reliable Transportation

Inside Thailand, visitors enjoy various reliable and efficient transportation choices. A well-maintained highway network connects cities and provinces, catering to self-driving itineraries and long-distance bus routes. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is expanding its national network with dual-track upgrades and new suburban trains that enhance access to historical and natural sites.

In Bangkok, local commuting is facilitated through the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway systems. Additionally, coastal and river cruises provide scenic routes for exploring select domestic destinations.

A Nation of Exploration

Thailand’s five regions, from the misty mountains in the north to the tropical islands in the south, present year-round travel opportunities. The lush green rainy season also brings vibrant scenery with flowing waterfalls and flourishing rice paddies. Key attractions remain open and welcoming to tourists.

Commitment to Safety

Thailand prioritizes safety in tourism, with collaborative efforts from public authorities and local partners to guarantee a secure travel experience. The Tourist Police, stationed at major tourist spots, act as a first point of contact for travelers needing help, offering multilingual assistance, safety advice, and 24/7 emergency support. Visitor support centers and clear signage guide tourists to necessary travel information.
