Vietjet Thailand Successfully Concludes Its Fly Green Sustainability Campaign in Phetchaburi

Vietjet Thailand completed its Fly Green sustainability campaign today, on August 1st. The initiative aimed to bolster the airline’s commitment to environmental protection through active community involvement.

Running from July 30 to today, the campaign engaged over 300 participants, including government representatives, university students, local volunteers, and Vietjet staff, to restore coastal habitats and enhance natural ecosystems.

During the closing ceremony, Sayada Benjakul, the Vice-President for Corporate Affairs at Vietjet Thailand, reiterated the airline’s dedication to environmental causes and social responsibility. “For Vietjet Thailand, we prioritize conducting business alongside a robust commitment to social and environmental responsibility. We are devoted to conserving natural resources, minimizing our environmental footprint, and promoting sustainability awareness among staff and passengers through our ongoing efforts under the Fly Green campaign,” she stated.

As part of its long-term vision, Vietjet Thailand is committed to expanding its environmental initiatives, fostering greater awareness, and taking proactive steps to preserve Thailand’s ecosystems.

A Collaborative Effort

This campaign was part of Vietjet Thailand’s ongoing Fly Green Fund, a CSR program aimed at promoting sustainable practices, ecological restoration, and environmental education throughout the nation. The initiative collaborated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and academic institutions to enhance community engagement in environmental activities.

The recent campaign resulted in collecting over 500 kilograms of waste from marine and shoreline environments through the 19th Fly Green: Garbage Hunter activity at Chao Samran Beach. This brings the total waste collected to over 5,300 kilograms throughout the project.

Additionally, the fifth Fly Green: Mangrove Forest campaign saw the planting of 3,000 mangrove trees and the release of 10,000 freshwater fish into Laem Phak Bia’s wetlands.

Pongisara Roilap, manager of the Phetchaburi Provincial Office of the Royal Project, praised this fruitful collaboration, emphasizing its role in preserving environmental quality and educating future generations on conservation.

He commented, “This collaboration between the Laem Phak Bia Royal Project, the Chaipattana Foundation, and Vietjet Thailand is commendable in its mission to preserve and restore environmental quality and promote ecological balance.”
