Oman Air Reports Major Surge in Direct Passenger Traffic

Oman Air has seen a significant rise in point-to-point traffic, with numbers skyrocketing from 75,000 to 200,000 in just a year.

Oman Air has reached a notable achievement with a nearly threefold increase in the number of passengers traveling directly to Oman, jumping from 75,000 in June 2024 to 200,000 in June 2025. This surge means that point-to-point travel now represents 58% of the airline’s total passenger figures, significantly higher than any other airline in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This statistic underscores the airline’s successful strategy to enhance inbound tourism and support economic objectives in Oman.

Mike Rutter, the Chief Commercial Officer of Oman Air, emphasized:

“A core pillar of our strategy is to increase point-to-point traffic; not simply by adding more flights, but by ensuring each flight brings more visitors directly to the country.

This growth results from meticulous route planning, targeted advertising, and a strategy that emphasizes consistent demand. As part of its ongoing efforts, Oman Air is committed to expanding its network, modernizing its fleet, and providing excellent service to its customers.

Recently, Oman Air has added Amsterdam to its network and is reinstating double-daily flights to London starting in October 2025. As a new member of the oneworld Alliance, it now offers connectivity to over 700 destinations around the world, including previously untapped markets in Japan, Australia, and North America.
