Etihad and SKY Express Team Up to Enhance Travel Options

New codeshare agreement expands connections for travelers between Etihad and Greece's SKY Express.

Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with SKY Express

Etihad Airways has forged a new partnership with the Greek airline SKY express, significantly expanding travel options for passengers. This agreement allows customers to access 24 Greek islands and three more Eastern Mediterranean cities when traveling through Athens.

The alliance officially commenced on July 14 and enhances the existing cooperation between the two airlines. As a result, Etihad extends its presence across the Greek islands and the broader Eastern Mediterranean region.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad, remarked, “This partnership opens exciting new possibilities for our customers to discover Greece beyond Athens. SKY express’s network perfectly complements our Athens service, allowing seamless travel to some of the Mediterranean’s finest destinations with just one booking.”

Echoing these sentiments, Gerasimos Skaltsas, Chief Commercial Officer of SKY express, stated, “This collaboration signals strong confidence in SKY express, boosting our position as a dependable partner and significantly improving our connectivity. Passengers can now enjoy seamless access to the largest network of Greek destinations, facilitated by Greece’s youngest fleet. Together, we aim to make Greece a coveted, year-round travel spot for global visitors.”

This partnership also bolsters Athens’ role as a strategic gateway in Etihad’s European network, offering unmatched access to Greece’s breathtaking islands and rich cultural offerings.

What the agreement involves

Under the terms of this codeshare, Etihad will feature its code on SKY express-operated flights that go beyond Athens. This arrangement will provide effortless access to popular Greek islands including Crete, Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, and Kos, in addition to other high-demand locales like Corfu, Paros, and Thessaloniki.

Overall, this collaboration enhances Etihad’s daily flights to Athens and positions Athens as a crucial hub for continued island travel. The codeshare also streamlines the flight booking process, allowing passengers seamless check-in and standard baggage transfers to their final destinations.

Travelers can book this enriched Greek network via the official Etihad website, the airline’s app, or through trusted travel agencies.
