Power Maintenance Scheduled for NAIA Terminal 3 in Manila

NAIA Terminal 3 will undergo essential power maintenance on July 15 as part of efforts to maintain safety and reliability at the airport.

Announcement of Power Maintenance

The New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC) has declared that a power maintenance break is set for Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila starting on July 15.

The maintenance period will commence at 10:00 PM on the 15th and conclude by 2:00 AM on July 16. An advisory issued today emphasized the importance of maintaining the airport’s safety and reliability, stating, “This is part of ongoing efforts to keep NAIA safe, reliable, and operating at its best. We will do our best to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.”

Planning for Travelers

Travelers are encouraged to arrange their journeys accordingly. Although backup generators will function for critical systems, some disruptions in elevators, escalators, baggage handling systems, air conditioning, lighting, and electrical outlets are anticipated.

Previous Maintenance Issues

Earlier maintenance occurred on May 29, which resulted in the unavailability of some boarding bridges for approximately four hours. These proactive measures are part of NNIC’s commitment to improving service quality at this prominent international air hub. Notably, in September 2022, a power outage delayed about 31 flights at the terminal, causing significant operational disruptions. A similar incident in June 2023 led to the cancellation of seven flights, illustrating the urgency and necessity of these maintenance checks.
