ROKI Collection in Queenstown Set to Open This September
The ROKI Collection in Queenstown, New Zealand, is preparing to welcome guests starting September 1st, offering an urban retreat experience.
ROKI Collection Queenstown in New Zealand is slated to open its doors on 1st September 2025.
This urban retreat on the shores of Lake Wakatipu is located right in the heart of Queenstown, known as the adventure capital of the world.
According to hotel general manager Stephen McAteer, every aspect has been thoughtfully designed to serve as a peaceful sanctuary. He remarked: “ROKI Collection Queenstown is where gracious service, curated design and breathtaking natural beauty come together. It offers a unique retreat that blends the tranquility of a lodge with the vibrancy of a hotel in beautiful Queenstown, immersing guests in nature.”
Designed for Elegant Stays
ROKI Collection Queenstown will feature wellness, culinary, and adventure experiences for guests.
Designed by Sumich Chaplin Architects with interiors by renowned Virginia Fisher, each of its 15 spacious suites, offering views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu, includes a fireplace, private bathtub, and walk-in wardrobes.
For dining, guests can enjoy Essence and The Terrace. Essence offers a fine dining experience with a fusion of modern European cuisine using local produce, overseen by culinary director Paul Froggatt, who is also the Luxury Lodges of New Zealand Chef of the Year 2023/24. This will be the first occasion for guests not in a lodge setting to enjoy Froggatt’s acclaimed cuisine.
Frogatt explains: “At Essence, my approach is simple: to honor the purity of exceptional ingredients, allowing flavors, seasonal ingredients and techniques to shine. Each dish is a representation of place and memory, crafted to evoke a sense of quiet luxury connected to New Zealand’s natural rhythm.”
The Terrace, a seafood-centric spot, boasts some of the best views in Queenstown, making it perfect for an aperitif, lunch, or dinner after a day of adventure. The site features two fireplaces for year-round comfort.
Guests can also unwind in the sophisticated yet cozy Library Bar, with a cocktail or wine list featuring New Zealand’s finest offerings. Private dining options are available in intimate settings or suites, including the 3-bedroom Brunswick Suite, the 4-bedroom ROKI Suite, or the 7-bedroom Grand ROKI Suite.
Diving into Luxurious Wellness
After a day filled with skiing, hiking, or vineyard tours, guests will have access to ROKI Pure, a wellness sanctuary aimed to rejuvenate and connect. ROKI Pure features a thermal zone, two private treatment suites, an indoor pool, and a jacuzzi.
McAteer states: “We have moved beyond the traditional spa paradigm. Today’s guests are wellness-focused and seek experiences that not only pamper but also create meaningful shifts in their well-being.” ROKI Pure is designed to be a serene space exclusively for hotel guests, catering to modern travelers who require more than just relaxation.
