Amy Sykes Takes the Helm of Wholesale Distribution at Gold Medal

The dnata Travel Group UK has appointed Amy Sykes as the new head of wholesale distribution for its brand Gold Medal, aiming to enhance Trade Partnerships.

dnata Travel Group UK’s flagship B2B brand, Gold Medal, has confirmed the expansion of its Trade Partnerships Team with Amy Sykes appointed as the head of wholesale distribution.
This newly created role is field-based in the UK, focusing on identifying and acquiring new business opportunities in this sector.
Trade partnership director Karen Fletcher expressed her satisfaction with Sykes joining the team, citing her in-depth understanding of the wholesale market and her technical insight into travel distribution platforms as key attributes for leading the business’s strategic area.
Fletcher stated: “Amy has settled into the team well and has already identified paths to grow dnata Travel Group UK’s B2B wholesale distribution, including scheduled air and ground sales through Groups, flight API, website, and GDS self-booking platforms. Amy’s appointment highlights Gold Medal’s commitment to providing travel businesses with tailor-made, high-quality solutions that address evolving market needs.”

Meet Amy Sykes
Sykes brings 12 years of experience in the travel industry, previously serving as the head of distribution at VOX Group and as the strategic sales manager for Hotelbeds. She joined Gold Medal eager to work closely with Fletcher to develop an updated wholesale distribution strategy.
Reflecting on her role, she said: “I’m looking forward to leveraging my expertise across multiple product verticals, enhancing and expanding our wholesale proposition. With Sykes’s addition, Gold Medal’s Trade Partnerships team now boasts 14 members actively engaged across the UK and Northern Ireland.
