Chinese tourism officials held the 2025 Guangxi Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aimed at deepening cultural and tourism exchanges with ASEAN countries and boosting inbound tourism. Over 200 participants, including officials, tourism agencies, and media representatives, attended.

- Three inbound tourism routes for Thai tourists and three for Malaysian tourists were introduced.
- Notable signing ceremonies included agreements between the Guangxi Tourism Association and the Thai Travel Agents Association, promoting mutual tourism exchanges.
These events were a part of Guangxi’s 2025 Tourism Year Overseas Promotion Plan, promoting Guangxi as a premiere tourist destination.
Cultural Showcases
At the events, artists from the Guangxi Ethnic Orchestra performed various cultural pieces, showcasing the region’s rich traditions and earning much applause from attendees.
Future Plans
At the Bangkok conference, Viboon Kamontho, Vice-President of the Thai Travel Agents Association, expressed hopes to send 100,000 visitors to Guangxi. The Malaysia conference saw a charter flight agreement signed, bringing 178 Malaysian tourists to Guilin on July 3rd.
