The English Riviera Will Host the 2026 ICF Stand Up Paddling World Cup
The English Riviera is set to host the 2026 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Stand Up Paddling (SUP) World Cup from 24 – 28 June 2026. This event is significant as it marks the first time the UK will host an ICF SUP event of such magnitude since Paddle UK was designated as the sport’s governing body in February 2023.
Renowned for its stunning landscapes, Torbay is expected to welcome around 5,000 spectators and 200 elite athletes over the five-day competition. The event will also see a push to set a world record for the most paddleboarders on the water at once.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome the ICF Stand Up Paddling World Cup to the English Riviera in 2026 and this is a significant opportunity to showcase the English Riviera to a global audience.” — Carolyn Custerson, Chief Executive Officer of the English Riviera BID Company.
The festival aims to promote inclusivity in paddling, offering activities for participants of all abilities.
With its mild climate and UNESCO Global Geopark status, the English Riviera provides an ideal setting for both competitive races and recreational participants. This event is supported by Paddle UK, the English Riviera Business Improvement District (ERBID), and Torbay Council, highlighting the region’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
