Saudia Airlines Expands Service to Málaga with New Route to Riyadh This Summer
Saudia Airlines launches new flights connecting Costa del Sol to Riyadh, enhancing international travel options.
Saudi Arabia’s flagship airline, Saudia Airlines, has launched a new route connecting the Costa del Sol with Riyadh, operating three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This route is part of the international destinations announced last April, aligning with the company’s expansion for the peak season.
The inaugural flight from Riyadh landed in Málaga last Wednesday and departed again for Riyadh on Saturday, with this itinerary scheduled to continue until August 30th. The route, operated by a Boeing 787-9 accommodating 290 passengers, reaffirms Saudia’s commitment to Málaga, where it has already been operational since 2018, progressively increasing its frequency to three flights weekly this season.
Saudia, boasting a modern fleet of 147 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, plans to continue expanding its capacity with the delivery of 118 new aircraft in the coming years. The airline has also announced new international routes for 2025, covering destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, such as Vienna, Venice, Larnaca, Athens, Bali, Antalya, El Alamein, and Salalah.
The General Director of Saudia Group, Ibrahim Al-Omar, emphasizes that the growth from last year, with a 16% increase in international passengers, reflects the growing demand for global travel and the airline’s commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences by combining comfort, efficiency, and Saudi hospitality. This increased connectivity reinforces Saudia’s role as a key player in Saudi Arabia’s international expansion and in promoting tourism between the Middle East and Europe.
