StarCruises has celebrated the docking of its vessel, Star Voyager, in Ho Chi Minh City, welcoming around 1,000 passengers from Singapore. Starting June 13, this cruise ship will offer Vietnamese travelers a 5 Day / 4 Night Cruise to Singapore during the school holidays, with additional sailings on June 17 and 21.
This ship represents the first cruise service that provides round-trip voyages from a Vietnamese homeport. To ease passenger transitions, check-in will occur at the Tan Son Nhat Pavillon Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, with complimentary shuttles to the Phu My Port for boarding and disembarking.
Star Voyager is the newest addition to the StarCruises fleet and has recently undergone a $50 million refurbishment, offering a unique experience that merges comfort with an extensive range of updated amenities and the warmth of Asian hospitality.
A Boost for Regional Tourism
The arrival of approximately 1,000 tourists has the potential to invigorate both the outbound cruise industry and overall tourism in Vietnam. To honor this milestone, an inauguration ceremony occurred on-board Star Voyager at Phu My Port, attended by Do Phuoc Trung, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria Vung Tau province, along with representatives from various government and tourism organizations.
Michael Goh remarked: “With the debut of the new StarCruises brand in Vietnam, we are thrilled to have Star Voyager ready to set sail from Ho Chi Minh City. This homeport and exclusive journeys are vital steps in our mission to establish Vietnam as a significant cruise hub in Southeast Asia. We aspire to attract diverse travelers and foster the growth of Vietnam’s cruise tourism and fly-cruise economy.”
