Hong Kong, renowned as a leading hub for medical science and research, proudly hosts the 2025 Annual Meeting of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). This significant gathering, held from June 11 to June 14, brings together over 2,400 local and international experts in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine from 58 countries and regions, covering Asia, North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Mainland China.

Dr. Peter Lam, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, noted that the ISSCR is a globally recognized authority in medical sciences and research. This annual meeting represents a milestone for international academic conventions in medical science, as it is the first time in 13 years that Hong Kong is chosen as the host city in Asia.

“Hong Kong is the first city chosen to host this prestigious event in Asia after a 13-year hiatus, reinforcing its role as the ‘World’s Meeting Place’.”

The program includes plenary sessions, concurrent tracks, poster presentations, and ample networking opportunities, showcasing the latest advancements in regenerative medicine, including cell therapies and understanding disease processes.

Valentina Greco, ISSCR President, highlighted that this event marks a pivotal moment for global stem cell science and noted the importance of Hong Kong as a vibrant research hub that connects diverse scientific communities.

In the lead-up to the event, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has played a vital role, providing extensive support in venue sourcing and bid proposals.
