Aimi Kaiya Takes Center Stage as Devasom Khao Lak’s New Artist-in-Residence

Bangkok-based mixed-media artist Aimi Kaiya has been appointed as the latest artist-in-residence at Devasom Khao Lak. This event runs until June 30 and highlights her unique artistic vision.

This creative initiative reaffirms the resort’s commitment to supporting local arts and fostering engagement with the community.

The program is themed “Mindful Presence,” encouraging guests and locals to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and engage through the medium of art. The program aims to draw inspiration from the tranquil surroundings and cultural heritage of Phang-Nga, reinforcing Devasom’s commitment to preserving local identity while nurturing creativity and well-being.

This artistic endeavor is open not just to guests but also to the general public, providing an opportunity to meet the artist and engage with her work.

Meet Aimi Kaiya

Aimi Kaiya is an emerging figure in Thailand’s contemporary art scene, utilizing various mediums, including acrylics and pastels. Her artwork “Romance in Venice” was featured at the Chianciano Biennale 2022 and is included in the permanent collection of the Chianciano Art Museum. She has also exhibited at the 2023 London Art Biennale.

Her residency will conclude with a curated exhibition showcasing her works created during this program, along with a talk that delves into her artistic journey and the themes explored during her stay.
