After a period of anticipation, JetBlue and United have formalized their collaboration focused on loyalty programs, enhancing customer experiences across both airlines.
Designed to foster better travel options, the partnership named Blue Sky enables JetBlue TrueBlue members to earn and redeem points on all United flights, while United MileagePlus members gain similar privileges on JetBlue flights. Both airlines will allow travelers to mix itineraries seamlessly through their respective platforms.
Partnership Benefits
JetBlue and United have agreed to provide reciprocal recognition for elite status members, granting them priority in check-in, boarding, baggage handling, and the first checked bag free. This initiative aims to improve the travel experience for passengers of both carriers, with potential discounts for travelers holding loyalty programs.
Unlike the previous ‘Northeast Alliance’ with American Airlines, this collaboration avoids codeshare flights and operates under a standard interline agreement.
As part of the terms, United will secure additional slots at New York’s JFK, with operations slated to commence in 2027.
