Virtuoso, the global network specializing in luxury and experiential travel, has announced that its 2026 Symposium will take place in Seoul, South Korea, from April 15-19, 2026. This high-profile event is expected to draw around 400 influential travel executives from over 35 countries for five days of networking, business development, and an immersive exploration of one of Asia’s most vibrant cities.
The announcement was made during the 2025 Virtuoso Symposium, which occurred from May 13-17 on the Crystal Serenity. This chartered journey featured stops in cities such as Barcelona, Monaco, and Marseille. Notably, David Kolner, the Executive Vice President, presented significant booking trends, highlighting a nearly 14% increase in quarter sales compared to the prior year and a 26% rise in year-over-year cruise bookings.
“Korea was selected as the host for next year’s Symposium due to our growing partnership with the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) and the rising demand for luxury experiences in unique settings,” said Virtuoso’s Senior Vice President, Global Events Jennifer Campbell. “From the deeply rooted traditions in Seoul’s palaces to innovations in design and technology, Korea signifies the future of luxury travel—one that merges meaning, beauty, and human connection.”
“The 2026 Virtuoso Symposium presents a critical opportunity to position Korea as a leading luxury destination on a global scale,” stated Hee-jin Cho, executive director of the KTO’s Americas Centre. “By showcasing Korea’s unique combination of timeless tradition and modern sophistication to the world’s leading travel professionals, we aim to enhance global appreciation for its cultural, wellness, culinary, and innovative offerings.”
This annual event is not merely a conference; it serves as a powerful driver for tourism growth. Previous host countries, like Slovenia, witnessed remarkable increases in tourism, including a staggering 473% rise in bookings from Virtuoso following their 2024 events.
With Korea reshaping luxury travel definitions, it marries comfort and exclusivity with rich culture and creativity. As ancient palaces coexist with contemporary skyscrapers, and Michelin-starred dining meets trendy street food, Korea emphasizes true immersive experiences, such as private temple stays and bespoke wellness practices. World-class infrastructure, warm hospitality, and top-notch service further distinguish the luxury experience that Korea offers.
