The metro system marks its 90th year, having expanded significantly since its launch, which covered only 11.5 kilometers with 13 stations. In 2024, it transported 2.7 billion passengers. Today, modern trains equipped with automated controls facilitate efficient operations with intervals as short as 90 seconds at peak times.

Modernization is a constant in the Moscow Metro. Over 75% of the trains are new models featuring automated speed controls, updated safety systems, and more. Digital ticketing options, including smart cards and biometric payments, enhance passenger experience.
