Expansion Plans for Hail International Airport
Hail International Airport is set to increase its capacity to over 2.2 million passengers annually as part of an infrastructure development initiative.
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics is focusing on the expansion of Hail International Airport, aiming to increase its capacity to over 2.2 million passengers annually. This initiative is part of a broader development project intended to improve air transport infrastructure in northern Saudi Arabia and enhance the effectiveness of key facilities in the area.
This announcement was made by Eng. Saud Al-Arifi, Director General of the General Administration of Privatization at the Ministry, during a dialogue called “Investment opportunities in the transport and logistics sector” at the Hail Forum. He indicated that this project is essential for the ministry’s strategy to establish Hail as an integrated logistics hub, as reported by Saudi Gazette.
Furthermore, Al-Arifi mentioned that the ministry is collaborating with the Hail Region Development Authority on a significant logistics center project covering over 374,000 square meters. This project will aid in managing supply chains and facilitating the movement of goods across various Saudi regions.
In addition, ongoing work on a roadside services development project aims to equip travelers with essential facilities that ensure safety and efficiency on regional roads. These initiatives align with Hail’s strategic position as a vital nexus connecting the north, center, and west, bolstering its potential role in future transportation and logistics services within the Kingdom.
Notably, Hail International Airport is merely 60 minutes from 11 Arab capitals and 200 minutes from Central Europe, making it a prime location for logistics services.
