Celebrating 60 Years: TAT New York Office Links Americans to Amazing Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand's New York Office marks its 60th anniversary, highlighting its role in connecting American travelers with Thailand's rich culture and destinations.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New York Office celebrated its 60th anniversary on May 15, focusing on its legacy as the key link between American travelers and Thailand’s wonderful culture, stunning landscapes, and renowned hospitality.
Since its inception in 1965, it has initiated award-winning campaigns to position Thailand as a leading travel destination. Being TAT’s first international office, it spearheaded unique marketing initiatives, including the acclaimed platforms ThailandInsider.com and GoThaiBeFree.com, reshaping U.S. traveler experiences towards Thailand.
Moreover, TAT has made strides in inclusive tourism, particularly for LGBTQ+ travelers. With the recent enactment of Thailand’s Marriage Equality Act on January 23, 2025, the office has further established Thailand as a welcoming haven for LGBTQ+ visitors.
TAT’s partnerships with notable brands, highlighted by collaborations with HBO for the series The White Lotus, have helped elevate Thailand’s status globally. The initiative launched The White Lotus Thailand Microsite, providing fans with an immersive experience of the picturesque locations shown in the show.
“Thailand’s unique treasures offer travelers the chance to find their paradise. We’re excited to honor TAT New York’s 60 years while striving for sustainable tourism and enhancing visitor experiences,” stated Chompu Marusachot.
Currently, there are three TAT offices in the U.S.: New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
