The Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, has officially announced the Davis Cup matchup between Spain and Denmark, scheduled for September 13 and 14 at the Puente Romano Tennis Club. This event expects to attract nearly 5,000 daily spectators, reinforcing Marbella’s reputation as a key venue for this prestigious tournament.
During the press event, Muñoz emphasized that being selected as the host for the fifth time not only showcases the city’s organizational capacity to hold high-profile international sporting events but also highlights a strong foundation of trust between the tournament and Marbella. “We are collaborating from the first moment with all involved parties to ensure this matchup is even more memorable than previous ones,” stated the mayor.

The ceremony held at Marbella’s Congress Palace featured the presence of Patricia del Pozo, Counselor of Culture and Sport for the Junta de Andalucía; Miguel Díaz, President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation; and David Ferrer, the national coach. Del Pozo emphasized the anticipated economic impact of over two million euros from this event, noting it is one of the most awaited by sports fans in Spain, thanks to the quality and commitment of Spanish tennis players.
Díaz highlighted the unique bond between Marbella and Spanish tennis, recalling previous Davis Cup rounds held there in 1989, 2018, and 2022. “We have always left victorious,” he remarked, assuring that “here, we feel at home.” Ferrer also urged fans to attend the event: “It will be a challenging and exciting round, and we need everyone’s support.” Through this prominent occasion, Marbella continues to establish itself as an essential destination in the international sports calendar, providing not just high-level entertainment but also an invaluable opportunity to project the city’s image globally.
