The collaboration between Vietjet and Qazaq Air aims to establish a new airline that strengthens connections between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
New Airline Venture
Vietjet and Qazaq Air have officially entered into a partnership aimed at establishing a new airline brand known as Vietjet Qazaqstan.
The agreement was made at the Kazakhstan–Vietnam Business Roundtable, attended by General Secretary To Lam during his official visit to Kazakhstan.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance has granted a Foreign Investment Registration Certificate to Aviation Holdings, a Vietjet subsidiary, enabling it to acquire a strategic equity stake in Qazaq Air.
Significance of the Partnership
This collaboration signifies a vital step in Vietjet’s international growth strategy and aims to enhance bilateral relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in areas including aviation, commerce, and culture. Additionally, this partnership is poised to transform the Central Asian aviation landscape.
Future Prospects
Under the new arrangement, both entities will collaborate to develop and operate Vietjet Qazaqstan, which is anticipated to serve as a low-cost airline connecting Kazakhstan to Vietnam and other global aviation hubs.
The airline intends to address the rising travel demands within Kazakhstan while promoting tourism, trade, and logistics across Asia. Moreover, the new venture aims to foster local economic development by generating significant employment opportunities.
Moreover, Vietjet Qazaqstan has also firmed up an agreement with Boeing to support its future fleet comprising at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. This encompasses comprehensive services such as technical support, training for pilots and engineers, plus upgrades of the aircraft to ensure safe and efficient operations, employing modern business practices and digital management systems.
