A significant power outage struck several areas of Indonesia’s popular resort island, Bali, on Friday. The state utility company, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), reported that they are actively working to restore power to those affected, with most areas already seeing the power return.
Bali, which attracted 6.3 million foreign visitors last year according to the island’s statistics bureau, faced disruptions at its airport as well. However, flight operations continued using backup generators.
PLN is currently investigating the reason behind this outage while efforts continue to restore the power supply. Social media users shared images depicting traffic congestion around Bali due to the power outage, alongside long lines at airport check-in counters.
