Flyers to Brisbane, London, and Zurich will be among the first to experience American Airlines’ upgraded Flagship Suites.
Travelers now know which flights to book for a chance to be among the first to enjoy the enhanced travel experience with Flagship Suites when flying internationally.
The airline announced their inaugural four routes that will be serviced by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners featuring the new cabins.
Scheduled Launch of Flagship Suites: June 5, 2025
The flights will be made available for booking on May 5, 2025, with the inaugural flight taking off on June 5 from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as American Flight 2012, subsequently returning to Chicago for a regular route to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) as American Flight 98.
The remaining three routes offering Flagship Suites will operate later this year. New Flagship service will commence from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to London Heathrow on August 6, 2025, followed by Philadelphia to Zurich Airport (ZRH) on September 3, and finally, the last to be introduced will be from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Brisbane Airport (BNE), scheduled for October 26, 2025.
Each of the 51 Flagship Suites on the new 787-9 aircraft will offer features like privacy doors, increased storage, a wireless charging pad, and a lounge-style seating arrangement. The planes will also feature 32 premium economy seats with privacy-enhancing headrest wings.
American Airlines is planning to add 30 new aircraft by 2029, which includes retrofitting existing planes with Flagship Suites, increasing the availability of lie-flat and premium economy seating options by 50% before 2030.
