Asian low-cost carrier AirAsia Group has recently boosted its branding efforts with a new partnership in the golf sector. The airline has signed on with Ripper GC, part of the LIV Golf League, with shared goals of growing the sport and engaging new golf fans and passengers.
Captain of Ripper GC, Cameron Smith, expressed his joy about collaborating with AirAsia, acknowledging the challenges new golfers face, particularly regarding travel.
“When I started my career, and still today, one of the biggest barriers for new golfers is air travel. I am grateful that AirAsia is helping to give a new generation of golfers the opportunity to realize their dreams.”
Rudy Khaw, the Chief Executive of AirAsia, added:
“At AirAsia Group, our motto is to make air travel accessible to more people. By partnering with Ripper GC, which won the Team Championship last year, we stand to support the future of the sport alongside a world-class golf team.”
As part of this collaboration, Ripper GC players will don AirAsia-branded caps during all LIV Golf events in the upcoming 2025 season. The two organizations are looking forward to future joint initiatives.
What is LIV Golf?
LIV Golf, initiated in 2022, features a modern format contrasting with traditional tour setups. Its events provide a unique experience with simultaneous tee-offs, which has ignited interest rapidly.
Ripper GC boasts a lineup of top players and seeks to continue its winning momentum, especially during the LIV Golf Korea event taking place in May.
In conjunction with the partnership announcement, AirAsia is offering reduced fares to Seoul, available until May 4.
