
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has officially ratified the election of its new Executive Board members:
- Dr. Chuwit Mitrchob, Deputy Director-General at the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA).
- Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor, CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board (STB).
- Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA).
“Dr. Chuwit, Sharzede and Raki have been incredible supporters of PATA over the years, offering their time, expertise, and passion in ways that have truly made a difference,” stated PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid following their election.
“Their contributions, both as former Board members and active supporters of our events and initiatives, have helped advance our mission to grow tourism in a responsible and inclusive way.”
Dr. Mitrchob and Salleh Askor are set to serve a two-year term and will replace outgoing members Gerald Perez and Noredah Othman. Their focus is on promoting responsible tourism development across the Asia Pacific region. Their extensive careers include significant efforts in sustainable tourism and community engagement, which will drive PATA’s mission forward.
