Philippine Authorities Readied as Holiday Travelers Return to Manila

In anticipation of returning holiday travelers, police operations in Manila are intensified to ensure safety and security.

Police security operations in the Philippine capital are fully engaged as vacationers return to Manila following the Holy Week holidays.

According to Maj Gen Anthony Aberin, the chief of the Philippine National Police’s National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO), inspections at major air and sea ports along with bus terminals and railway stations will persist, alongside staff deployments in key urban areas.

“Metro Manila is bracing for a wave of returning travelers. We will be there in the streets to deliver safety and security services to the people.”

Aberin emphasized that assistance desks will remain operational, combined with an increased presence of visibility patrols and local government forces.

Due to the influx of returning travelers, the public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperative, and they should report suspicious individuals or activities to established hotlines and aid desks.

As of Palm Sunday on April 13th, the PNP has placed all its units across the Philippines on heightened alert, deploying over 65,000 uniformed personnel to guarantee a safe and peaceful observance of Holy Week.
