Dubai Airports Steps Up Autism Support Services with Training for 45,000 Staff
Dubai Airports has launched an extensive autism training program for its employees to better assist travelers with autism and sensory sensitivities.
Dubai Airports has significantly increased its commitment to accessibility by expanding its training program focused on autism inclusivity. Over 45,000 employees, including key partners and stakeholders, have been trained to assist autistic and sensory-sensitive travelers at the bustling Dubai International (DXB) and the Dubai World Central (DWC).
The initiative is part of Dubai’s goal to become a Certified Autism Destination™ (CAD).

DXB proudly holds the title as the world’s first international airport to receive the Certified Autism Centre™ (CAC) designation, ensuring that the airport is prepared to provide a supportive experience for those with autism.
The training program has been tailored from extensive research and is accredited by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
“True inclusion starts with people. By investing in training, we are promoting a culture of understanding and proactive support across our airports,” said Majed Al Joker, reflecting on the responsibility to provide a positive experience for all guests, regardless of their specific needs.
Trained Guest Experience Ambassadors can be identified by sunflower pins and are positioned at vital points in the airport, ready to offer specialized assistance.
