Dubai International Airport Retains Global Busiest Status for 2024

Dubai International (DXB) continues to be the world’s busiest airport for international passengers for the 11th consecutive year.

Airports Council International (ACI) World recently released the 2024 rankings of the busiest airports, highlighting how they have maintained their standings amidst global uncertainties. Despite facing geopolitical and economic challenges, Dubai International Airport (DXB) has secured its position as the world’s busiest airport for international travelers, achieving a staggering 92.3 million passengers in 2024.

Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports, stated:

“Every year brings its own challenges in aviation, but some things remain constant. Dubai International (DXB) has retained its position as the world’s busiest airport for international passengers for the 11th consecutive year, according to Airports Council International (ACI). With 92.3 million guests in 2024, we not only extended our decade-long hold on the top spot but also set a new global benchmark for international traffic at a single airport.”

This milestone reflects the remarkable allure of Dubai as a destination, attracting visitors for tourism, business, and residency. Griffiths emphasizes the ongoing collaborative efforts of Dubai Airports and its community in enhancing guest experiences while also looking towards the future development of Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport, aimed at expanding capacity and innovating the travel experience.
