Le Méridien to Open New Hotel at Mumbai Airport in January 2029

Marriott International has confirmed plans to launch a new Le Méridien hotel in Mumbai, enhancing the area's hotel offerings and catering to rising hospitality demand.

Marriott International has signed an agreement with The Balwa Group to bring the Le Méridien brand to Mumbai. This strategic decision addresses the increasing demand for upscale hospitality options in the vibrant city. Opening in January 2029, the new hotel will be located just two kilometers from Mumbai International Airport.

According to Ranju Alex, Regional Vice President at Marriott International, “Le Méridien has always inspired travelers to explore the world in style and savor the good life through the lens of its creative-minded spirit, and what better city to continue this journey than in the lively, ever-evolving city of Mumbai.” This hotel aims to enhance the experience of visitors with its mid-century design, exquisite amenities, and culinary offerings.

The partnership marks the third collaboration between Marriott and The Balwa Group, following the successful launches of Fairfield by Marriott Mumbai International Airport and The Ballard – A Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Rafiq Balwa expressed excitement over the project’s potential impact on Mumbai’s hospitality landscape.

Planning for the Le Méridien Mumbai includes 161 contemporary rooms and suites, alongside facilities such as a specialty restaurant, a patisserie, and the brand’s signature Le Méridien Hub. Recreational amenities will feature a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and a spa, while extensive banquet space will cater to various events.
