Unveiling 'Poseidon': A New Sculpture by Brazilian Artist Marcos Marín in Puerto Banús

The presentation of the sculpture 'Poseidon' by artist Marcos Marín took place in Puerto Banús, promising to attract art lovers and tourists alike.

On April 11, 2025, the renowned Brazilian artist Marcos Marín, currently living in Monaco, presented his latest sculpture ‘Poseidon’ in Puerto Banús. This artwork will be on display until the end of July, allowing visitors to enjoy an innovative piece that reflects the Mediterranean myths, placed between the ‘Columns of Hercules’, symbolized by the rock of Gibraltar and Mount Hacho in Ceuta, visible on the horizon.

Marín, a personal friend of Prince Albert of Monaco, is recognized for his multifaceted talent. His notable achievements include a portrait of Grace of Monaco for the new Monaco Museum and a public monument honoring Prince Rainier III. The event also saw the attendance of José Ángel, Vanessa Ortíz de Zárate, and Vera Cintia Álvarez.

During the presentation, Marín described his work as a tribute to the ‘God of the Seas’. After its exhibition in Puerto Banús, the sculpture will travel to Nice, where it will be showcased under the sponsorship of Prince Albert. Born in São Paulo in 1967, Marín began his career as a virtuoso pianist but transitioned to visual arts based on his studies in France. His contact with the celebrated artist Victor Vasarely in Paris significantly influenced his direction toward optical art.

Throughout his career, Marín has explored identity and portraiture, creating monuments to icons like Princess Grace of Monaco and immortalizing celebrities such as Maria Callas, Madonna, and Frank Sinatra.

Now residing in Monaco, Marín continues to create work that captures individual essence and challenges viewers’ visual perceptions. The exhibition of ‘Poseidon’ is expected to attract art enthusiasts and tourists to Puerto Banús in the coming months.
