Norwegian Cruise Line Revives Walk for Wellness Campaign in May

Norwegian Cruise Line is set to enhance its Walk for Wellness initiative this May, aiming for a collective target of 120,000 miles as a continuation of its successful charity efforts in support of travel industry charities.

Following the remarkable impact of last year’s Walk for Wellness, which saw over 1,000 travel agents collectively cover 98,000 miles and raise £15,000 for charities like Abta Lifeline and ITAA Benevolent Fund, Norwegian Cruise Line is launching the initiative again in 2025 with a new goal of 120,000 miles.

This year, participants will virtually island hop their way through the Caribbean, visiting notable locations including NCL’s two private islands: Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye.

In support of the same charities as before, NCL will contribute £10,000 and €5,000, respectively. The funds raised will directly assist members of the travel industry community, providing essential support such as food vouchers and assistance with heating costs.

Motivation to Participate

To encourage participants, a significant prize pool awaits those who complete mini-challenges throughout the month:

  • Four cabins on the inaugural voyage of the beautiful Norwegian Luna, set to launch in 2026.
  • A £100 Nike gift voucher.
  • Two £100 wellness vouchers.
  • A Ninja Blender.

Audrey Headon, chair of ITAA, remarked: “Last year, NCL’s support gave our fund a much-needed boost and allowed us to assist those in the travel trade facing real hardship. From providing supermarket vouchers to covering essential bills, the impact was tangible. It’s heartwarming to see NCL stepping up once again, and we’re excited to walk alongside them for another year of wellness and support.”

Moreover, Trudie Clements, director of Abta Lifeline, expressed excitement about being part of NCL’s initiative once again: “Their generous donation made a real difference to colleagues struggling with the cost of living, and it also helped raise awareness of the support available through Lifeline. It’s initiatives like this that remind people they’re not alone, and that this industry looks after its own.”

NCL’s vice president and managing director for the UK and Ireland, Gary Anslow, stated: “Walk for Wellness was a true highlight in our calendar last year. The spirit of our agents, partners, and team is what makes this campaign so special. We’ve seen firsthand the difference these funds make, and the stories of personal transformations are inspiring. Let’s smash 120,000 miles together and have some fun along the way!”
