Lanson Place Achieves Two Key Milestones in Sustainability
The Hong Kong-based hospitality brand proudly announces the receipt of Green Key Certification.
March was a significant month for Lanson Place as the brand achieved two notable sustainability milestones. Lanson Place Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, was awarded the internationally recognized Green Key certification for its outstanding environmental efforts.
This certification makes Lanson Place Causeway Bay the first property to receive this esteemed recognition, marking a critical stride in the brand’s comprehensive sustainability efforts that embody its environmental ethos.
Lanson Place
Commitment to Eco-Friendly Practices
Before the certification was granted, every Lanson Place location was already engaged in various eco-friendly initiatives. These measures encompass:
- A transition to a paperless environment with e-registration cards, e-invoices, and digital copies of magazines and newspapers available in guest rooms.
- Sustainable cleaning protocols using eco-friendly products and an opt-in program for linen and towel changes.
- Waste reduction strategies and recycling efforts, including employing NORDAQ and Purezza systems, installing in-room filtered water taps to cut down on single-use plastics, recycling coffee capsules, and partnering with charities to repurpose lightly-used soap bars.
- Donating textiles for recycling and upcycling.
Additionally, Lanson Place’s ongoing collaboration with Green Hospitality, a non-profit organization, enhances its dedication to sustainability across its properties. This partnership has led to significant improvements in areas such as green procurement, energy efficiency, and minimizing single-use plastic consumption.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Lanson Place is continually striving to establish measurable goals, such as reducing energy usage and landfill waste while fostering an environmentally conscious culture among its guests and employees. The Green Key certification from Lanson Place Causeway Bay serves both as a significant milestone and a guide for implementing these eco-friendly practices throughout its network.
Earth Hour 2025
On March 22, Lanson Place properties globally participated in Earth Hour 2025, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability. From 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, these properties participated in the event by turning off non-essential lighting and equipment. They hosted sustainability-themed activities and encouraged guests to engage in environmentally friendly practices. From intimate candlelit meetings to inspiring conversations about sustainable living, the participants reflected on the implications of mindful energy use.
According to Eugenia Lai, the Design and Technical Services Director, “Earth Hour serves as a powerful reminder of the collective impact we can make. Through our continuous initiatives and partnership with Green Hospitality, we remain dedicated to integrating sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations.”
