Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch Appointed Chair of Anguilla's ATB Board

Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch has been selected as the new Chairperson for the Anguilla Tourist Board.

Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) by Cardigan Connor, the Minister of Health, Sports and Tourism. In this role, she will lead a board composed of professionals from the private sector to enhance tourism in Anguilla.

Connor presented the nominees, including Vanterpool-Kubisch, to Premier Cora Richardson-Hodge for approval in the executive council before the official announcement.

The newly formed board includes several notable members:

  • Merlyn Rogers, tourism consultant
  • Merla Halley, General Manager of Quintessence Hotel
  • Sean Richards, General Manager of Altamer Resort
  • Miguel Leveret, General Manager of Blanchards
  • Likerah Adams, Chairperson of the Boat Racing Association
  • Allister Carty, executive in ground transportation.

In his announcement, Connor praised Vanterpool-Kubisch’s vast experience, stating she possesses unparalleled familiarity with the ATB, which positions her well to drive Anguilla’s tourism industry forward. He expressed confidence in her leadership abilities as well as the effectiveness of the new board.

Vanterpool-Kubisch has a rich history in Anguilla’s tourism sector, starting her career in 1978 within the newly established tourism offices. She significantly contributed over her career, including serving as the Director of Tourism for the ATB for 16 years until her retirement in 2008. Throughout her journey, she received several accolades, such as the Anguilla Pioneer Award and the Anguilla Trailblazer Award.

In expressing gratitude for her new role, Vanterpool-Kubisch stated, “I am deeply honored by the confidence this administration has placed in me. Our sales and marketing strategies must adapt to the changing industry landscape, and I am fully committed to the tasks ahead.”
