SriLankan Airlines Offers Support to Earthquake-Stricken Myanmar

SriLankan Airlines undertakes a humanitarian mission to aid victims of a recent earthquake in Myanmar, deploying essential resources and personnel.

SriLankan Airlines successfully completed a vital humanitarian relief operation for Myanmar, which was recently affected by a powerful earthquake on Saturday, April 5. This was executed at the direction of the Government of Sri Lanka and included transporting 26 relief workers along with vital supplies, including necessary medical kits.

Despite facing various logistical obstacles, the airline staff demonstrated remarkable professionalism and dedication. The mission was swiftly arranged following an official request from the Ministry of Defense.

Coordinated Efforts Required

Navigating through multiple stakeholders amid strict deadlines presented a significant challenge; however, the cooperative efforts of all participants facilitated a safe and prompt mission.

SriLankan Airlines extends its heartfelt thanks to the Secretary of Defense and his team, whose steadfast support was crucial for the operation’s success. This initiative further underlines SriLankan Airlines’ commitment to humanitarian efforts both domestically and internationally, solidifying its standing not just as the national carrier of Sri Lanka but also as a global ally in humanitarian crises.
