Alaska Airlines Introduces New Benefits for Elite Flyers with Hawaiian Airlines

Alaska Airlines has unveiled enhanced benefits for its Mileage Plan MVP members, which also extend to Hawaiian Airlines.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan MVP members now know what to expect when they hit milestones on their elite journey, as well as new benefits for those who are at the highest elite level.

The continued evolution of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan continues, with another set of benefits for elite flyers and credit card holders.

The Seattle-based airline announced new benefits for their loyal flyers, including some that extend to their sister carrier Hawaiian Airlines.

Milestones, Checked Bags, and Extra Comfort Now Available Across Carriers

In October 2024, Alaska announced Mileage Plan elites would get milestone rewards as they work towards elite status. Those milestones are now live, with benefits coming at 10,000, 30,000, 55,000, and 85,000 miles, with extended offers for those who fly beyond 150,000 miles.

At the lower levels, members can choose one option from benefits including bonus miles, pre-ordered meals, complimentary wi-fi passes, complimentary MVP status for one flight, or discounts. Once flyers reach 55,000 miles and 85,000 miles, they can choose two perks which include bonus miles, discounts on Mileage Plan Unlocked experiences, upgrade certificates, and lounge day passes.

For the most dedicated flyers who fly 150,000, 200,000, or 250,000 miles, they will be able to choose from two one-time perks at each threshold. The options are bonus miles, lounge passes, upgrade certificates, or rolling over elite qualifying miles.

In addition to the milestone awards, those who reach Alaska Mileage Plan MVP Gold 75K and MVP Gold 100K will soon get upgrades when flying Hawaiian Airlines. Starting April 24, the highest tier elites will be able to select a Extra Comfort seat free when they purchase a main cabin fare aboard the airline.

Finally, those with either an Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines credit card will be able to get free checked luggage across both carriers. Alaska Airlines Visa Signature and Alaska Airlines Visa Business cardholders will get one free checked bag for themselves and up to six people on the same itinerary aboard Hawaiian when using the card to book airfare, while Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard primary cardholders get two free checked bags when using their card to buy Alaska airfare.
