Chimu Adventures Integrates Albatros Expeditions into Nordic Expedition Cruise Network
Chimu Adventures has announced that Albatros Expeditions (AE) is joining their parent network Nordic Expedition Cruise and Travel (NECT).
This development follows NECT’s complete acquisition of the expedition cruise firm, marking a milestone for both companies in the Australian market.
Leveraging NECT’s extensive network, which also includes Polar Latitudes (PL), Albatros Expeditions and Polar Latitudes will enhance their cruise offerings to the Arctic and Antarctica packaged with Chimu’s Latin American land product, offering Australian travelers a comprehensive travel experience.
This strategic acquisition strengthens NECT’s global operations and sales group in both Polar and Latin American travel markets.
The combined fleet of Polar Latitudes and Albatros Expeditions will feature several ships including Ocean Albatros, Ocean Victory, MS Seaventure, and Ocean Nova. The firms aim to provide low-emission voyages while delivering unforgettable polar journeys.
According to the incoming chief executive of Albatros Expeditions, Patrick Shaw, “Our ambition is to create the most trusted and reliable brand for all of our customers and business partners by learning from and building on each other’s strengths.”
Chad Carey, Managing Director of Chimu Adventures, added that expanding their fleet with the addition of the X bow ships, Ocean Albatros and Ocean Victory, will significantly reduce emissions per traveler compared to previous operations.
With Albatros Expeditions recognized for sustainable practices, including eliminating single-use plastics, their extensive experience puts them among the top-tier operators in polar expeditions.
