Visa processing platform Atlys reports a remarkable surge in visa applications as Indian travelers prioritize summer vacations.

Rising Visa Applications for Summer 2025

Summer vacations, once seen as a luxury, are now a key priority for many Indians, driven by a growing middle class and a lingering post-pandemic desire to travel. According to data from Atlys, a visa processing service, there’s been a striking 45.5% increase in visa applications for 2024 compared to 2023. Popular destinations like Dubai, Egypt, and Singapore have all shown substantial growth.

As we approach summer 2025, Atlys notes a 68% year-on-year growth in applications. Noteworthy destinations for travelers this summer include Schengen countries, the USA, and the UAE. Gen Z travelers are notable for favoring experience-led trips, showing a keen interest in immersive destinations like Indonesia and Egypt.

“It’s remarkable to witness how travel has become an integral part of people’s lives. We’re seeing a surge not only in the number of applications but also in the diversity of destinations Indians are curious about,” says Mohak Nahta, CEO of Atlys. He added: “This uptick reflects a collective desire to explore cultures, try new experiences, and maximize vacation time. For many, travel has transformed into a vital lifestyle element.”

For summer 2025, first-time international travelers are increasingly looking at countries like Cambodia and Sri Lanka for their streamlined visa processes. Another emerging trend is the exploration of multiple destinations within a single trip, facilitated by Schengen visa applications for extensive travel across Europe.

As Indian travelers continue to overhaul their approach to summer holidays, 2025 is set to be a banner year for travel based on rising cultural curiosity and seamless mobility.
