Heathrow Airport Closed for 24 Hours

All flights in and out of London’s Heathrow Airport have been canceled for a period of 24 hours due to a fire that occurred at an electrical substation supplying power to the airport. This outage has prompted the airport authorities to close the airport until 23:59 on March 21.

The fire was first detected around 11:30 PM (5 AM IST) on Thursday, and firefighters were dispatched shortly after. The official announcement of the airport’s closure was issued at 2 AM (7:30 AM IST) on Friday.

Passengers are advised to refrain from coming to the airport and should reach out to their respective airlines for updates.
