Korean Air Enhances Airport Lounges and Introduces Premium Economy

Korean Air is set to upgrade its airport lounges and launch Premium Economy seating in a bid to improve passenger experience.

Korean Air has recently announced two exciting initiatives to elevate its service offerings. The airline will upgrade its airport lounges and introduce Premium Economy seating.

Lounge Upgrades

The enhancements include plans for significant renovations at the lounges of Incheon International Airport’s Terminal 2 and the introduction of new Premium Economy cabins in their aircraft fleet.

Current Initiatives

  • The existing Prestige Class Lounge in the east wing will double in size.
  • Additional lounges will open in phases starting August 2025, expanding the overall space by 2.5 times.
  • Renovations at major international airport lounges in Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK) will introduce city-themed designs.

Mobile App Enhancement

The airline will also enhance lounge access through an updated mobile app that allows passengers to receive real-time information on lounge amenities, reservations, and crowd levels.

Introduction of Premium Economy

In response to growing demand, Korean Air will retrofit 11 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, replacing First Class with Premium Economy seating. The changes will begin to take effect in the latter half of 2025.
