Changi Airport Sees Growth with 67.7 Million Passengers in 2024

Changi Airport's passenger traffic surged by 14.8% in 2024, nearing pre-pandemic levels.

Singapore’s Changi Airport registered 67.7 million passenger movements in 2024, marking a 14.8% increase compared to the previous year. This figure is just shy of the pre-pandemic passenger volume of 99.1% seen in 2019. The airport also recorded a total of 366,000 aircraft movements and 1.99 million tonnes of airfreight throughput, reflecting an 11.5% rise in operations compared to 2023.

Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airport Group, stated:

“We witnessed a year of strong growth in passenger and cargo traffic as well as connectivity in 2024. Changi added a bumper crop of 11 new city links, strengthening the air hub’s network and opening up a world of new destinations.”

Looking to the future, Changi Airport is optimistic for continued growth, with significant investments planned in infrastructure and services to accommodate rising demand.

In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, the airport saw 17.8 million passenger movements, a 10.7% increase over the same period in 2023, achieving pre-pandemic traffic levels once again.

  • Busiest Month: December 2024, with 6.4 million passengers.
  • Top Markets: China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Thailand saw the most traffic.
  • Airline Expansion: Welcomed eight new airlines in 2024.

Changi continues to enhance its global connectivity and is expected to introduce new routes throughout 2025.
