Alipay+ Strengthens Global Travel for the Lunar New Year

Alipay+ has joined forces with major international merchants to unveil exclusive campaigns aimed at travelers during the Lunar New Year.

For instance, in Singapore, their partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board allows travelers to buy discounted vouchers for taxis and shopping at malls and attractions. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, the Geneva Tourism Board is enhancing the travel experience for visitors using Alipay+ services.

Currently, Alipay+ collaborates with over 35 global wallet and bank partners, linking 1.6 billion user accounts to more than 90 million merchants across 66 regions.

Douglas Feagin, the President of Ant International, stated: “Tourism is playing an increasingly significant role in local economies, accelerating growth for merchants across sectors, but businesses need to adapt to new digital habits and preferences. Starting with mobile payments, Alipay+ offers merchants solutions to connect, engage, and retain customers who want to leverage technology to enhance their travel experiences.”

Where Can Alipay+ Be Used?

Alipay+ partnerships include companies such as Resorts World Sentosa, Marina Bay Sands, and Lotte World, which have helped build both in-store and in-app engagement through enhanced rewards. Travelers in China can smoothly use Alipay alongside 13 global payment apps.

Additionally, users of platforms like GCash, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, and others can access seasonal offers from over a hundred Consumer Friendly Zones in major cities. In South Korea, over two million merchants accept Alipay+, providing a range of discounts, while tourists can utilize the NAMANE x Alipay+ Transit Pass Card for easier travel.

In Japan, the Alipay+ service is accepted by more than three million merchants, and in Southeast Asia, payments can also be made via DuitNow in Malaysia and SGQR in Singapore, along with promotional offers at retailers.
