Repsol Soles Gala 2025: A Culinary Showcase of Talent
The Repsol Soles Gala 2025 celebrated outstanding culinary talent in Spain, featuring new recognitions for restaurants and chefs.
The Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife hosted the grand ceremony for the Repsol Soles, which updates the renowned Repsol Guide, a benchmark in Spanish tourism and gastronomy since 1979. This year, the guide added 71 new restaurants with one sun, 17 with two suns, and awarded the highest honor, three suns, to just two remarkable chefs: Pedro Sánchez, from Restaurante Bagá in Jaén, and Susi Díaz, from La Finca in Elche.
With these additions, the Repsol Guide recognizes a total of 789 restaurants, reflecting the evolution of gastronomy in Spain and the arrival of a new generation of chefs committed to authenticity and simplicity. The term ‘house of meals’ resonates strongly, symbolizing a return to the essence of products as the foundation of cooking. Among the emerging trends are shorter, more accessible menus that encourage sharing and enjoying the culinary experience in a more intimate way. Many of these new spaces offer seven to eight-course menus at prices ranging from 40 to 50 euros, as well as options for diners to customize their tasting experience.
New Suns in Andalusia
Andalusia shines brightly in this edition, highlighted by the new three suns for Bagá in Jaén. Other recognized establishments in the region include Alevante in Chiclana de la Frontera (two suns) and Narea in Vejer de la Frontera, among others. The gala, hosted by actress Toni Acosta and presenter Lorena Castell, included notable figures like Antonio Brufau, President of Repsol, who emphasized the chefs’ commitment to their local environments. María Ritter, director of Guía Repsol, added that authenticity and proximity are key ingredients in this new gastronomic wave. With these updates, the guide not only celebrates haute cuisine but also promotes a lifestyle that values community and collaboration between producers and chefs. Thus, the universe of Repsol Suns continues to grow, illuminating the path toward a vibrant gastronomic future in Spain.
