Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) announced the introduction of Mangaluru International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport into the DigiYatra program by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA). This means all seven operational airports under AAHL are now part of the DigiYatra initiative, enhancing passenger access to contactless travel.
This strategic development reflects AAHL’s commitment to improving passenger experiences via seamless transit at airports.
Jeet Adani, Director of AAHL, remarked:
“Since its launch on August 15, 2023, DigiYatra has been implemented at five of our airports: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati. The addition of Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram Airports signifies our dedication to innovative technologies that boost passenger comfort and safety. We’ve witnessed a significant uptake in DigiYatra utilization, with some airports experiencing usage rates as high as 37 percent in one day. More travelers are now choosing the convenience of DigiYatra, transforming their travel experiences.”
The DigiYatra initiative aims to facilitate a hassle-free, paperless travel journey for passengers, utilizing facial recognition technology to streamline entry processes at airports. This system minimizes the need for physical documents, significantly enhancing operational efficiency while also being environmentally friendly. In addition, it bolsters security through biometric identification, reducing wait times across various airport checkpoints and guaranteeing a smoother travel experience.
