Dnata Secures 7-Year License for Ground Services at Zurich Airport
Dnata has been re-awarded the license to provide ground handling services at Zürich Airport (ZRH) in Switzerland. The renewal comes after a competitive public tender conducted by the airport operator, ensuring dnata’s presence at ZRH for another seven years.
Currently, דnata supports 40 passenger and cargo airlines at Zürich with over 500 employees, managing more than 35 aircraft turnarounds and handling 150 tonnes of cargo daily.
Recent investments at the airport include the implementation of its digital cargo management system, One Cargo, which streamlines various operational functions such as safety monitoring and ULD management through a cloud-based platform. Additionally, dnata invested in advanced ground support equipment (GSE), increasing the number of electric vehicles in its fleet to 42%.
Moreover, dnata plans to enhance its cargo handling capacity by over 50% at ZRH, with a new 9,500m² advanced warehouse facility set to open in early 2027.
Willy Ruf, dnata Switzerland’s Managing Director, stated: “We are proud to have earned the trust of Zürich Airport once again. The renewal of our license is a clear vote of confidence in our team, highlighting our reliability and commitment to service excellence. We will continue to invest in our people, infrastructure, and equipment to deliver best-in-class services to our customers.”
Beyond Zürich, dnata operates at Geneva Airport (GVA) and assisted over four million departing passengers while moving over 103,000 tonnes of cargo in 2024.
